Safaris are designed to suit our guests every need.

The modern safari involves a visit to one or several wildlife parks or sanctuaries. Depending on the selected itinerary, a safari usually takes between three and twelve days.

We will drive a 4WD safari vehicle equipped with a specially designed pop up roof, to make sure you get the best view and best camera shots.

You will always be followed by a highly experienced and skilled guide, who possesses broad knowledg on the natural flora and fauna in the area. Our guides are fluent in English.

We arrange and fine tune every safari, to meet our guests expectations, interests and budget. We are not restricted to particular departures dates and our suggested itineraries below are provided as guidelines for our clients.

10 Days

Wild South Selous Game Reserve, Ruaha – and Mikumi National Park

DAY 01

Arrival at International airport of Dar es Salaam, where we will meet you at the airport and transfer you to Upepo Garden for overnight on Bed and Breakfast basis.

Upepo Garden is ideally located just 7km from the Dar es Salaam city centre, right on the Indian Ocean overlooking Msasani Bay.

DAY 02

Morning departure for a five – six hour drive to Selous Game Reserve. Lunch i served upon arrival at your selected lodge.

Late afternoon, boat safari on Rufiji River.

DAY 03 & 04

Daily, we enter Selous Game Reserve, for a full day of game-drives with picnics.

A three course dinner will be served at your selected lodge.

With an area of around 45.000 sq km, or 5% of Tanzanias land surface, The Selous Game Reserve is one of the largest protected areas in the world. Its size is stunning: bigger than Switzerland or Denmark, uninhabited and little touched by human interference. Visitors therefore find themselves in a pristine wilderness far away from the trodden tourist routes. Its wildlife is spectacular, and some mammal populations ( buffaloes, elephants, hippos, wild dogs, crocodiles) are the largest in Africa.

DAY 05

Today, we check out of the lodge after breakfast and drive to Mikumi. An expedition through Uluguru Mountains to Morogoro, and onwards to Mikumi National Park,  which is, depending on the river, a journey of about 8 hours.

A beautiful drive through rivers, villages, small bridges and the  tropical forest of Uluguru Mountains. Packed lunch on-route.

A 3 course dinner will be served at our selected lodge.

DAY 06

After breakfast a five-six hour drive up to Ruaha National Park. Packed lunch on-route.

DAY 07 & 08

Daily, we enter Ruaha National Park, for a full day of game drives  with packed lunch. Dinner and overnight at your selected lodge.

One afternoon walking safari on day 8.

Ruaha N.P. is Tanzania’s 2nd biggest park. Wildlife is concentrated along the cascading Great Ruaha River that is the parks lifeblood. Home to hippo and crocodiles snacking on schools of fish, it is a flooded torrent after the rains, dwindling to precious pools surrounded by a blinding sweep of sand in the dry season.  Waterbuck, impala and the worlds most southerly Grants gazelle risk their lives for a sip of its water.

This is a permanent hunting ground for lion, leopard, jackal, hyena and packs of wild dog – rare elsewhere. Unique combinations of animals co-exist here – both the greater and lesser kudu, sable and roan antelope – Ruaha being the only protected area in the world where the flora and fauna of eastern and southern Africa overlap.

DAY 09

After breakfast, we drive back to Mikumi National Park (ca 6 hours). Packed lunch on-route and a late afternoon game-drive. This park will be our last bush adventure.

You will be served a 3 course dinner at your elected lodge.

Mikumi N.P. is Tanzanias third largest National Park, covering 3230 square kilometre. Mikumi is one of the most popular of Tanzanias National Parks.

One of the principal features of Mikumi is the Mkata River flood plain (an area of lush vegetation which particularly attracts elephants and buffaloes), along with the mountain ranges that border the park on two sides (in the east the Uluguru Mountains, in the  west the Rubeho Mountains ). Open grasslands dominate in the flood plain, eventually merging with the miombo woodland covering the lower hills.

DAY 10

A morning game-drive. Then back (in 5 hours) to Dar es Salaam. Packed lunch on-route. Transfer to Dar es Salaam to your hotel or to the Airport  for international flight.

8 Days

Wildlife and Hiking in Mikumi, Ruaha and Udzungwa

DAY 01 – Arrive Dar es Salaam for overnight

Upon arrival at Nyerere International Airport, you will be met and greeted by our officer outside the customs; you will then be introduced to your driver-guide who will lead you to the end of your safari. Soon after, you will be given a road transfer to City centre for dinner and overnight at Upepo Garden.

DAY 02 – Dar es Salaam / Mikumi

After breakfast, drive to Mikumi National park, Lunch in Morogoro town. Mikumi National park is nestled between Uluguru Mountain to the northeast, Udzungwa Mountains and the Rift Valley escarpment to the south west as part of Selous ecosystem, it benefits from the highest game density of the entire conservation area. Afternoon game drives in Mikumi national park. Dinner and overnight at Vuma hills Lodge or lodge of your choice.

DAY 03 – Mikumi / Ruaha

After breakfast, drive along Udzungwa chain of Mountains crossing Ruaha Great River passing Iringa town for lunch, there after drive to Ruaha National Park for evening games drive, This is the largest park in east Africa after its nearby game areas declared as part of Ruaha National park. Dinner and overnight at Ruaha River Lodge or lodge of your choice.

DAY 04 – Full day in Ruaha

Breakfast is served at the camp. Morning and afternoon game-drive the park. The park is famous for the high concentration of Elephant than any other Park in east Africa, a place where magnificent mammals like Kudu (both greater and lesser), Sable and Roan antelopes can be spotted. Meals and overnight at Ruaha River Lodge or lodge of your choice.

DAY 05 – Full day in Ruaha

Breakfast is served at Lodge, Morning and afternoon game-drive in Ruaha National park with a combination of walking safari in the park (you will be escorted by an armed ranger). Meals and overnight at Ruaha River Lodge or lodge of your choice.

DAY 06 – Ruaha / Udzungwa Mt. National Park

After breakfast, Drive to Udzungwa Mountain National Park, Short visit of the Isimila historical site of Stone Ages (about 21 km from Iringa town). Lunch at Kitonga inn hotel located at the foot of the famous Kitonga Mountain. Late evening arrive at Udzungwa Mountain View Lodge for dinner and overnight.

DAY 07 – Full day in Udzungwa

After break fast collect packed lunch with a mountain guide and start a gentle trek to the summit of the Sanje Waterfalls found at an altitude of 750 metres above sea level, while enjoying your lunch, the falls offers a magnificent view of the Kilombero Sugar can plantation, this gentle trek needs people who are physically fit, the long way takes about 6 to 7 hours including a relaxation time, swimming is possible. Late evening descend to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

DAY 08 – Udzungwa / Dar es Salaam

After breakfast; drive back to Dar es Salaam, lunch at the restaurant, afternoon drop off at the Hotel, airport or residence.

4 Days

Selous Game Reserve

DAY 01: Dar es Salaam – Selous Game Reserve

Pick up from DSM city center and proceed to Selous Game Reserve with picnic lunch. Late afternoon, boat safari along the mighty Rufiji River. Dinner and overnight at Zarafa Tented Camp (L,D).

You will discover the Rufiji River by boat, encounter hippos and crocodiles in good numbers. Some 350 bird species have been recorded in the Selous Game Reserve. These are typical of miombo woodlands, and the bird life supported by Rufiji swamplands is of particular interest.

DAY 02: Game-drive in Selous Game Reserve

You will have full day in the Selous Game Reserve exploration of the Reserve by 4 wheel drive vehicle. Dinner and overnight at Zarafa Tented Camp (B,L,D).

The Selous Game Reserve is the largest in Africa, covering 54,600 square kilometer. The reserve gets its name from the hunter and explorer Frederick Courtney Selous. He was killed here during World War 1. Selous is famous for elephants. Other species commonly seen are lions, wild dogs, buffaloes, bushbuck, impalas, elands, baboons, zebras and greater kudus. It was originally set aside as a hunting area where animals are abundant but more shy then the Northern Parks. Excursions by 4x4 vehicle will permit you to have good photographic opportunities and the chance to explore different sections of the vast park.

DAY 03: Walking Safari in Selous Game Reserve

After early breakfast, another day in the Selous Game Reserve. You will start with early morning walking safari, followed by game-drive with your picnic lunch. Dinner and overnight at Zarafa Tented Camp (B,L,D).

Walking safari will give you a particularly intimate feel for the African wilds. It starts in the morning with a guidance of an armed ranger, takes 2 hours before you meet the driver at the reserve gate. Walking safaris offer a good chance of seeing giraffe, zebra, elephant and good birding.

DAY 04: Selous Game Reserve – Dar es Salaam

After breakfast return to Dar es Salaam with picnic lunch (B,L).

7 Days

Famous North; Lake Manyara, Ngorongoro and Serengeti

DAY 01 – Arusha for overnight

Arrive at Kilimanjaro International airport where you will be met and transferred to Arusha for dinner and overnight.

DAY 02 – Arusha / Lake Manyara

After breakfast, drive to Lake Manyara National park, lunch at the Lodge. Afternoon game viewing in the park, Manyara is famous for its tree climbing Lion and pythons.
Late afternoon drive back to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

DAY 03 – Lake Manyara / Serengeti

Breakfast is served at the lodge, collect picnic lunch boxes and drive to Serengeti National Park, the park derives its name from a Maasai word meaning “Endless plain” the migration of wildebeest can be spotted in Serengeti and Ngorongoro, afternoon game drives enroot to your Lodge for dinner and overnight.

DAY 04 – Full day in Serengeti

Breakfast is served at the lodge; an entire day is dedicated for game viewing drives in the Serengeti National Park, Mammals like Lions, leopard, buffalo, elephants, cheetah, hippo, the migration of wildebeest, zebras, antelopes and many more animals are seen widely around the plain. Meals and overnight at your Lodge.

DAY 05 – Serengeti / Ngorongoro

A slow breakfast at your lodge, Collect picnic lunch boxes and drive to Ngorongoro area, game drive en route before visit the Olduvai Gorge. “The cradle of mankind”.
Thereafter proceed to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

DAY 06 – Full day in Ngorongoro

After breakfast, Descend down the crater for a full day of exploring the wild life.
Picnic lunch boxes to be served at midday on the crater floor.
Rhinoceroses, Lion, elephant, buffalo, wildebeest, hyenas, impala and many more animals are easily spotted on the floor of the crater. Late afternoon ascend out and return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

DAY 07 – Ngorongoro / Arusha

After breakfast, drive back to Arusha for lunch. In the afternoon you will be transferred to the Airport and assisted to check-in for your onward flight.
